Grade-specific performance is supplied with the recommended material. Final assembly validation remains application-specific.

The engineering risk

Why the material alone is not the answer

Thin electronic assemblies need reliable isolation around conductive housings, busbars, batteries and PCB edges. Material grade, temperature, voltage, forming and edge geometry all affect the selection.

Common install positions

  • PCB-to-housing barrier
  • Battery and busbar insulation
  • Motor controller
  • Connector and terminal area
  • Folded or wrapped component
How the construction works

Match each function to the assembly.

01

Dielectric barrier

Film parts create controlled separation between conductive surfaces.

02

Thin-space design

PET and PI support compact assemblies where bulk insulation is not practical.

03

Assembly control

Adhesive and liner options simplify alignment and placement.

04

Laminated function

Insulation can be combined with foam, graphite or protective layers.

Selection data

What we need to review your design

Send the information available now. Missing values can be identified during drawing review rather than guessed.

  • Working and transient voltage
  • Temperature exposure
  • Required thickness
  • Bend or forming geometry
  • Adhesive surface
  • Applicable material or flame requirement
Engineering questions

Before you specify the part

PET or PI?

PET is widely used for cost-effective insulation and structural films. PI is considered where thinner sections or higher temperature capability are required. The grade and assembly conditions decide the choice.

Can insulation parts be folded or supplied with adhesive?

Yes. Constructions may include scoring, folding, adhesive zones and release liners subject to geometry and material review.
